The IVF Center assists members with infertility issues using a variety of approaches, including male fertility services, donor sperm insemination, egg donor program, assisted hatching, cryopreservation of embryos, Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD), Testicular Sperm Extraction (TESE), and gestational surrogacy.
Recognized for excellence in stroke care
The Fremont Medical Center has achieved a Gold Plus Performance and Achievement Award from the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association for adherence to evidence-based guidelines for higher quality stroke care. We also have Stroke Center Certification from The Joint Commission. Achievement of Stroke Center Certification means that services provided by the Fremont Medical Center have the critical elements for patients to achieve long-term, successful recovery from strokes.
At the Fremont Medical Center and throughout the GSAA, the Physician Mentoring program aims to support physicians in their pursuit of a successful and satisfying career. We offer a mix of group and individual meetings designed to unlock the advanced tools and resources we enjoy here at Kaiser Permanente and The Permanente Group, Inc. (TPMG), and to train new hires to use our groundbreaking electronic health record technology. We also offer programs in time management and efficient exam room procedures, as well as mixers and lunch hour seminars that help new hires get integrated within their departments and within the medical center as a whole. We believe that Physician Mentoring is very important and that it contributes to the high quality of care and service that we provide to patients, as well as to the long-term satisfaction of the medical staff.
Investing in Our Physicians
Professional Education and Development is a core component of TPMG Medicine and supports the concepts of group excellence and self-governance that have been the backbone of a strong care delivery system for over 65 years. The majority of our physicians are board-certified in their medical specialty and many hold academic appointments at the University of California, San Francisco and Stanford University.
Our medical group has a culture that is dedicated to life-long learning in the art and science of medicine, and in the management of a high quality care delivery system. We offer a variety of learning opportunities including online self-study options, small group sessions, and Grand Rounds presentations by local and nationally recognized experts. We also offer a full 4-part Maintenance of Certification support program.
Professional support at The Permanent Medical Group is much more than a great on boarding program, convenient CME options, and annual recognition dinners. The GSAA Physician Health & Wellness program supports professional satisfaction, family well being, fitness, cultural enrichment, personal development, and community engagement by hosting events of interest to the local physician population. In the recent past, these events have included bike clubs, gardening talks, golf tournaments, family baseball night, lunchtime practice management discussions, and financial planning seminars. The depth and breadth of Physician Health & Wellness programming at TPMG is another element that sets us apart from our competitors and contributes to the success of our group.
Training the Next Generation of Physicians
Kaiser Permanente Northern California residency programs have been in existence since 1947. Our goal is to train the finest quality physicians in the setting of the nation’s largest and most highly regarded integrated health care system. Our graduates are highly sought after and many become leaders in our own and other health care organizations and associations. We offer a three-year residency in Podiatric Surgery, as well as graduate rotations in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Otolaryngology, and Palliative Care.
Improving Lives in the Community
Kaiser Permanente is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of our members and the communities that we serve. Kaiser Permanente awards community service grants, donates surplus equipment, provides volunteer services and medical expertise, and collaborates with numerous community organizations. The GSAA supports many local non-profit organizations who share their commitment to the well-being of our diverse community population, such as the REACH Ashland Youth Center, Davis Street Family Resource Center, City of Fremont Parks and Recreation Department safe swimmer program, Local Ecology and Agriculture Fremont (LEAF), Afghan Elders Association, Boys and Girls Clubs of San Leandro, and Operation Access, just to name a few.
