The California Central Valley is an area rich in family tradition and heritage. Farms, ranches and orchards stretch out from the city along quiet, two-lane roads, while new and older neighborhoods in the city create a vibrant mix of communities and cultural activities. Inside the Stockton Medical Offices, modern technology is balanced by “high touch,” personalized care. Our physicians enjoy all the advantages and benefits of working within a large, stable organization while also being part of a close-knit community. Professional Education and Development is a core component of Permanente Medicine and reflects our medical groups’ history of clinical performance. Our medical group is dedicated to life-long learning in the art and science of medicine. From online self-study options to small group sessions and Grand Rounds presentations by nationally recognized experts, learning opportunities are offered in a variety of modalities to suit different schedules and preferences. We also offer a full 4-part Maintenance of Certification support program.
We are committed to supporting our physicians on other levels as well. The CVA Physician Health & Wellness Committee provides activities and events to enhance your personal wellness, family life and your professional connections. California Central Valley Area physicians can choose to participate in family weekends at Yosemite National Park, charity fundraiser golf tournaments, bike clubs, physicians’ networking dinners and more. The way we see it, helping you maintain your health and sense of well-being is part of how we do business.
Investing in the community and the future of health care
We seek to enhance the communities in which we live and practice. Kaiser Permanente California Central Valley Area provides financial support to local nonprofit health and human service organizations with an emphasis on outreach to underserved populations. Every three years, the California Central Valley Area participates in an extensive needs assessment in San Joaquin and Stanislaus counties to identify the health and social needs of our communities. For 2011-2014, we identified the following critical needs in our culturally diverse communities: Obesity Rates, Chronic Diseases and Basic Needs for self-sufficiency.We also support an active employee and physician volunteering program that seeks to ease suffering both nearby and around the world.
In 2011, we partnered with California State University at Stanislaus to initiate new programs in phlebotomy, radiography and sonography available at the CSU Stanislaus Stockton Center campus. The school provides both classroom and laboratory settings for its educational programs, which include computer-based training, clinical simulators and state-of-the-art video conference equipment for distance learning. As a result of this comprehensive training, the Kaiser Permanente School of Allied Health Sciences (KPSAHS) graduates have a 98% pass rate on national certification examinations, and 71% of graduates in the school’s core programs gain employment at Kaiser Permanente.
Neighbors In Health
Neighbors In Health is a free health care day for the community. Medical screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, vision, diabetes and prostate cancer are offered at Stockton and Tracy Medical Offices and Kaiser Permanente Modesto Medical Center. We also provide pharmacy services, immunizations for adults and children, access to health education and free mammograms for women who meet certain eligibility criteria.
